MRI

MRI (Magnetic Resonance Imaging) scan is useful in generating images of internal organs by using a strong magnetic field and gradients, radio waves and a computer.
MRI scan is suitable for imaging any part of the body without involving X-ray radiation and can provide superior tissue contrast resolution, and therefore is frequently used to assess areas such as the brain, spine, ligament, joints, muscles, heart, blood vessels, breast, abdomen and pelvis. With regards to the diagnosis of cancer, MRI localizes the lesion, differentiates benign from malignant soft tissue tumor of some kinds, and detects metastasis if necessary, thus assisting doctors make treatment plan and monitor tumor progression during the entire course of treatment.
